Community-Wide Salary Scale for Supplementary School Teachers
The Community-Wide Salary Scale for Supplementary School Teachers is
under the aegis of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education
and the Greater Philadelphia Board of License. The salary scale is
intended to be used when hiring a teacher. Thereafter, a
teacher is subject to the salary increase policy of the school. The
salary scale may also be used as a guide in rewarding teachers for
additional formal study and/or accrued teaching experience.
-
The five levels of licensure for supplementary school teachers have
been integrated into the salary scale. The purpose of the
integration is to create a correlation between license attainment
and increments in salary.
-
In addition to academic classes, please note that participation in
Jewish pedagogic workshops and/or adult study sessions earns units
towards licensure and higher levels of licensure should result in
higher salaries.
In January of each year, the Community Board of License, in
conjunction with the Board of ACAJE, reviews the policy on teacher
salary levels and makes a salary recommendation to the community for
the following academic year.
For assistance in using the scale, please contact Rochelle Rabeeya,
Director of Educational Services, at 215.635.8940, ext. 1202 or
rrabeeya@acaje.org.
