Community-Wide Salary Scale for Supplementary School Teachers

The Community-Wide Salary Scale for Supplementary School Teachers is under the aegis of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education and the Greater Philadelphia Board of License. The salary scale is intended to be used when hiring a teacher. Thereafter, a teacher is subject to the salary increase policy of the school. The salary scale may also be used as a guide in rewarding teachers for additional formal study and/or accrued teaching experience.

In January of each year, the Community Board of License, in conjunction with the Board of ACAJE, reviews the policy on teacher salary levels and makes a salary recommendation to the community for the following academic year.

For assistance in using the scale, please contact Rochelle Rabeeya, Director of Educational Services, at 215.635.8940, ext. 1202 or rrabeeya@acaje.org.

The Salary Scale is divided into two categories: Educational Background and Experience. In each category there are columns. Find the highest level attained in each column and note its corresponding points. Then, total the points in each category. Points for Educational Background cannot exceed eleven; for Experience, ten. Official documents must be submitted for verification. Teaching experience points are awarded only at hiring. Thereafter, a teacher is subject to the salary increase policy of the school.
